A New Milford Town Councilman is disputing a claim by the Mayor that he created a conflict of interest on the library modernization project. The issue stemmed from Tom Esposito having his employer, a contractor for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, meet with the architect and subcontractor.
Mayor David Gronbach said that was a conflict. Esposito said at this week's Town Council meeting that he just wanted to educate the committee about making the facility energy efficient, noting that his company is not bonded for public projects.
Gronbach said any proposed change to the HVAC system should have gone to his office, the Town Council or the library committee. Esposito said Gronbach's concern should have submitted to the town ethics commission.
