A mistrial was declared Friday in a child molestation case in Danbury. The Newstimes reports that a jury was deadlocked on whether 36-year old Rony Ortega should be convicted on sex assault charges. Ortega was charged in March 2016 after police investigated claims he molested a relative in June 2015 at his home. He denied the encounter, but a DNA sample from the girl's clothing was a partial match. The jury foreman reportedly sent a note to the judge that one juror was not letting others speak, argumentative and discussing things not pertinent to the case. Ortega is free on bond.
