A Danbury man has been sentenced for distributing heroin. 32-year old Jose Gregory Charon was ordered to 30 months in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. The first six months must be served in home confinement.
Danbury Police responded to a city home last April on a report of an untimely death. Investigators collected from the scene three cellphones, a bottle of methadone and an empty glassine bag marked with a particular brand stamp. POlice were able to make two controlled purchases from Charon.
He was arrested on federal charges in September and pleaded guilty in December. The U.S. Attorney's Office says the sentencing is part of an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.
