A man has been arrested on drug related charges after running across Interstate 684. New York State Troopers responded to the highway in Southeast around 4am yesterday on a report of a suspicious person. They spotted 54-year old Roger Sherwood running in the northbound lanes, onto the median and tossing a small plastic bag.
The Brooklyn man was taken into custody without further incident. The bag contained 2.4 grams of cocaine.
Sherwood was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, and Disorderly Conduct. Sherwood was arraigned and ordered held at Putnam County Jail without bail for a court appearance on Tuesday.
