A Bethel woman has been charged in connection to a wrong way crash on the Merritt Parkway nearly a year ago. 25-year old Ali Wakeman was charged with DUI, assault with a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment and driving the wrong way. State Police responded to the Merritt last October and found Wakeman's car stopped against the median, with heavy front-end damage. Troopers found a nearby vehicle with damage to the driver's side. The other driver and his 16-year old son were transported to the hospital for treatment of chest and abdominal injuries. Wakeman's blood alcohol content was nearly 3 times the legal limit.
