A Danbury man awaiting trial for running a human trafficking ring has allegedly been assaulted by a convicted serial killer. The Hartford Courant reports that William Devin Howell was charged with assault for beating 52-year old Robert King, breaking his nose and orbital socket.
The assault happened December 3rd at Cheshire Correctional Institution. Howell is in a protective-custody unit. King was treated at UConn Health and transferred to the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Montville.
The state Department of Corrections is investigating the incident.
King will be in Danbury Superior Court January 25th for sentencing for providing disabled and addicted young men to customers for sex. Howell is serving six consecutive life terms for the murders of five women and one man whose bodies he dumped behind a New Britain strip mall.
