An officer-involved shooting in Danbury is under investigation by Connecticut State Police. One person was killed and another injured Saturday night at the Glen Senior Apartments. The incident happened around 9:30pm Saturday when police responded to a report of a suspicious man on the property.
Police saw a white man wielding a knife walking on the grounds of the complex and there was a brief confrontation. A Danbury officer deployed a taser, but it was ineffective. A second officer fired multiple gun shots, striking the man at least once. A tenant, a female relative of the man, also suffered a gunshot wound.
The man and his relative were transported to Danbury Hospital, where the man was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.
The woman is listed in critical but stable condition.
At the request of the Danbury State's Attorney's Office, the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crimes team is investigating this use of force incident.
