The Easton Police Department has received several inquiries about a letter residents received from the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. The DMV has created a pilot program for online license renewals for certain customers whose licenses expired in early 2020. In order to invite them to renew online, DMV sent letters or e-mails to these individuals. These are legitimate invitations.  Anyone skeptical can check the DMV website for contact information.  But anyone receiving such a letter should follow the instructions to renew their driver license using the online portal.
