Today is Autism Awareness and Acceptance Day.  Advocates in Danbury are raising funds for a sensory room at Danbury Public Library designed to stimulate children with special needs. The space will be the first of its kind in a library in Connecticut.  The area within the library's children's department, on the second floor, will be filled with particular objects and activities designed to stimulate children with special needs.  The Library is going out to bid for a sensory room this spring.  They hope to have the room completed by the end of the summer to begin then furnishing the room for future use.
