United Way seeks volunteers to review City grant funding applications

The United Way of Western Connecticut is seeking volunteers to serve on Review Teams that allocate Danbury funding to social service agencies. Reviewers will evaluate grant applications and attend program presentations by nonprofits that serve city residents.  The United Way oversees this process for the City, with funds allocated in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health. In the past, 28 agencies were funded through the City’s program.  Volunteer reviewers must be a resident of Danbury, available for virtual morning meetings in September and October, and not have a conflict of interest with any of the agencies being evaluated such as serving on the Board of Directors, being a volunteer, or being a client of the agency. Those interested in volunteering are asked to contact contact Victoria Scofield at United Way of Western Connecticut at (203) 883-6704 or victoria.scofield@uwwesternct.org.
