A retired Newtown police sergeant has been found dead of a suspected medical episode.  John Cole, of Naugatuck was found unresponsive Monday at Holy Savior Polish National Cemetery in Naugatuck.  The 60-year old served for more than two decades, joining the with Newtown Police Department in 1989.  Cole served as the head of the department's field training program and was made detective sergeant in 2006, but returned to patrol in the years before his retirement in 2014. Naugatuck Police do not believe there was any criminal aspect to the death.
