Anger at Plow Leads to Arrest

Danbury police say a 34-year-old Stevens Street resident was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly shoveling snow from his driveway onto the street.

Danbury resident Nelio Nery argued with a city snow plow operator who stopped to tell Nery he was violating a city ordinance. Nery stood in front of the snow plow and would not move.

Police and a city official tried several times to explain the city's snow ordinance that prohibits people from shoveling snow onto city property, but Nery refused to listen or cooperate.

He was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of the city snow ordinance. He was released on a promise to appear Feb. 10 in Superior Court in Danbury.
