Majority of Connecticut House members back impeachment

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A majority of Connecticut's all-Democratic delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives says they'll vote in favor of the two articles of impeachment against Republican President Donald Trump. Both U.S. Reps. John Larson and Rosa DeLauro announced Tuesday they support the charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. A spokeswoman for U.S. Rep. Jim Himes recently told The Associated Press, before the articles were announced, that the congressman would vote yes in favor of impeaching Trump. Messages were left seeking comment with Connecticut's two remaining U.S. House members, Reps. Joe Courtney and Jahana Hayes. DeLauro said in a written statement that she had been reluctant to pursue impeachment but believed Trump's "unchecked actions" required Congress to act.
