Teen wounded in high school stabbing, suspect detained

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A teenager is expected to survive after being stabbed by a classmate at a Connecticut high school. Police and school officials in Hartford say the attack at Weaver High School happened just after 10:30 a.m. Monday. Schools spokesman John Fergus says the victim was stabbed in his upper right chest and treated at the scene before being brought to a local hospital. Officials say the teen is in critical but stable condition with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. Police say the student who stabbed the victim fled, but was later caught near his home.
