A proposal to build 110 housing units for residents 55 and older on Mount Pleasant Road in Newtown is drawing opposition from town officials and neighbors. Critics say the requested zoning change would allow excessive density and benefit the developer more than the community. The Planning and Zoning Commission will continue its review July 2.
