A Newtown-based company is developing new drone technology aimed at helping first responders handle wildfires and natural disasters more efficiently. The company claims its “SwiftAid Drone Swarm” system will provide real-time aerial data, identify hot spots, and map safe evacuation routes without relying on cell towers or satellites. Company leaders say the goal is to deploy multiple drones at once to speed up emergency response and improve safety. The system is currently in development, with initial deployment targeted for later this year.
