Governor Ned Lamont has signed a sweeping workers’ rights bill into law aimed at expanding protections for employees across the state. The legislation includes tougher penalties for wage theft in the construction industry, requires employers to include pay ranges and benefits in job postings, and increases workers’ compensation benefits for teachers and health care workers assaulted on the job. The new law also requires some companies taking over service contracts to keep existing employees for at least 90 days.
