The Republican Town Committee in New Milford is exploring a possible high school chapter of Turning Point USA. Chairwoman Lynn Umbarger says the proposal is still in early stages and would not be tied to any school. Some local activists however, argue the effort is not student-driven and oppose bringing the group into the community.
