Danbury police are warning the public about false information spreading online following the July 13 crash that killed Bridgeport police officer Cooper Whiteside and his girlfriend, Brittany Islami. Police say an innocent New Britain woman and others with similar names have been wrongly linked to the case. The person charged is Melissa Esperanza Ramirez of Stamford, who remains held on bond.
