The state has activated the severe weather protocol due to forecasted hot weather through Sunday.  Cooling station locations can be found by calling 211 or online at 211ct.org.  In New Milford, the senior center and town hall are open, along with Oddfellows Hall as cooling stations.  Easton Police note that with the first heatwave of the summer underway, the senior center and the EMS building are open as cooling centers.  Cooling centers have been opened in Danbury due to the forecasted extreme heat over the next few days.  Among the designated locations are Danbury Library, during normal business hours, and the New Street Shelter 9am to 2pm today through Friday.  Library hours are Tuesday through Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday 10 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 2pm.  The Danbury War Memorial is open 5am to 10pm today through Friday, 7am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.  Hatters Hall on E. Hayestown Road is open today, tomorrow and Thursday 9am to 4:30pm.
