Police: man attacked at bus stop in May has died

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Police say a man attacked at a bus stop in New Haven last month has died.

Police said 66-year-old Francisco Ray died Thursday at Yale-New Haven hospital where he had been in critical condition since he was knocked unconscious by two men on May 30.

Two Waterbury men, 32-year-old Todd Traver and 30-year-old Christopher Lavigne, have been held on $500,000 bail on charges including first-degree assault.

Police said the men could face additional charges based on the outcome of an autopsy on Ray. It's not immediately known who is representing them.

Police said Ray was attacked at a bus stop on Chapel Street near Orange Street by two men who fled on a single bicycle. Witnesses told police, who arrested the suspects a short time later and seized the bicycle.
