HEBRON, Conn. (AP) State police say a woman charged in a car accident outside RHAM Middle School in Hebron that killed a 65-year-old teacher had alcohol in her system that morning.

An arrest warrant affidavit released this week says 50-year-old Elizabeth Everett of Hebron had a blood-alcohol level of 0.07 just under the legal limit of 0.08 when she was tested after the March 14 accident. Math teacher Dawn Mallory died two weeks later.

State police say Everett dropped off her son at school that morning and accidentally drove into a bus-only area, then struck Mallory while backing up her SUV. Everett is charged with felony misconduct with a motor vehicle and unsafe backing.

Everett didn't immediately return a phone message Wednesday. It's not clear if she has a lawyer.
