Health care worker attacked by dogs at patient's home

PLAINFIELD, Conn. (AP) A health care worker is in critical condition after being attacked by dogs in Plainfield.

Police say Lynne Denning of Canterbury was attacked by between two and four dogs Wednesday while she was caring for an elderly patient at the home.

Police say the dogs attacked her face, chest, arms and legs. The 56-year-old Denning was taken to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich and transferred to Hartford Hospital.

The dog's owner, Jenna Allen, and an unidentified man secured the dogs to let medical personnel treat Denning.

Plainfield police seized five Rottweilers and a Labrador retriever after the attack. The dogs are being quarantined for 14 days at the Plainfield Animal Shelter while the attack is investigated.
