Bridgeport police arrest man after brothers shot, 1 killed

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Bridgeport police say a man is in custody after he allegedly shot two brothers in an argument, killing one of them.

Police say 39-year-old Efrain Rivera is charged with murder, criminal attempt at murder and first-degree assault. He is held on $1 million bond. It is not immediately known if he has an attorney to comment.

Police said the brothers went to Rivera's home to confront him about threats he allegedly made toward them. The shootings happened at about 1 a.m. Sunday.

Thirty-four-year-old Miguel Martinez was fatally injured and died at a hospital.

Police said 32-year-old Jose Martinez is expected to survive a wound to the shoulder.
