LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) A woman has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 19-year-old Torrington woman.
Heather Birden is accused of stabbing Holly Aeschlimann multiple times during a fight in Torrington on April 17.
The 20-year-old Birden was charged Friday and appeared in Litchfield Superior Court, where was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bond.
Birden has been detained since the day of the stabbing on an assault charge in an unrelated case. The Republican-American reports that she is charged with stabbing another teen in the face on Aug. 7 in Winsted.
The Associated Press was unable to reach a lawyer or family representative of Birden for comment.
A vigil for Aeschlimann drew a large number of people to a Torrington park a few days after she was killed.
