EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) Police have charged an East Hartford woman in connection with a fatal-hit-and-run accident that killed an 8-year-old boy last month.

Eight-year-old Carlos Hernandez was struck on Burnside Avenue on April 16 when witnesses said two cars were involved in a chain collision.

Police said Wednesday that 30-year-old Hawa Pabai has been charged with evading responsibility and driving without a license. It's not immediately known if she has an attorney who could speak for her. She is to appear in Manchester Superior Court on June 1.

Police said other people may also face charges as the investigation of the crash continues.
