Police name man charged in West Haven chase, bus crash

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man charged with leading federal agents on a car chase in West Haven that ended with a crash that injured seven children on a school bus.

Police told the New Haven Register that 35-year-old Nathan Minervini of West Haven was arrested Thursday. Authorities say he's wanted in Vermont on heroin charges.

Police say Minervini fled Drug Enforcement Administration agents Thursday morning and crashed into the school bus and a parked car. The seven children's injuries were minor.

Vermont officials took custody of Minervini after he appeared Friday in New Haven federal court. Details of the Vermont case weren't released.

Authorities say Minervini will face charges in the chase and crash.

Minervini's response to the allegations isn't known. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
