Police say nurse stole patient medications in Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) A nurse at an assisted-living center in Stratford has been charged with stealing prescription narcotics from patients and replacing their pills with over-the-counter drugs.

The Connecticut Post reports that 39-year-old Jaime Fitcher of Seymour was arrested after police found prescription drugs in her car on Monday.

They say Fitcher told them she replaced drugs meant for patients at the Lord Chamberlain nursing and rehabilitation center with over-the-counter Tylenol and Claritin.

She faces numerous charges including cruelty to persons and illegally obtaining narcotics and is free after posting $25,000 bond.

Fitcher could not be reached for comment Wednesday. She does not have a listed phone number and it is not clear if she has hired an attorney.
