State police find $3 million in cocaine in trunk during stop

GROTON, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police say they've seized more than 60 pounds of cocaine worth nearly $3 million following a traffic stop.

State police say they stopped two vehicles that were weaving in and out of traffic on Interstate 95 on Wednesday in Groton.

During the stop, troopers say they found cocaine packaged in two cardboard boxes in the trunk of one of the vehicles.

Troopers say the driver of the car, Arnulfo Hiciano, told them the boxes weren't his and that he was traveling with the other vehicle that also was stopped.

Hiciano and the other driver, Giovanni Carmona, were taken into custody. No attorney information was immediately available.

The Rhode Island men are each being held on $100,000 bond and are scheduled to appear on Thursday in New London Superior Court.
