BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A 19-year-old Bridgeport man has been found guilty of robbing and shooting a paraplegic man last year.
The Connecticut Post reports that Shaquille Andrews was convicted Thursday in Bridgeport of attempted murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree assault. He faces up to 60 years in prison when he's sentenced Sept. 15.
Prosecutors say the 36-year-old victim, who's in a wheelchair, was visiting a friend at a housing project on June 2, 2015, when he was confronted in the hallway by Andrews. They say Andrews robbed the victim and then shot him in the chest.
The victim has since recovered. Andrews testified in his own defense and denied robbing and shooting the victim.
