Death at Willimantic public housing complex ruled a homicide

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (AP) - State police say the death of a 73-year-old man in a Willimantic public housing complex earlier this week has been ruled a homicide.

The victim of the homicide Wednesday was identified Friday as William Alvarado.

The medical examiner's office says he died of a stab wound to the neck.

Alvarado lived in an apartment at the John J. Ashton Tower apartments and police at first only called the death "suspicious."

But after an autopsy, it was determined to be a homicide.

There have been no arrests and police are asking anyone with information about the killing to contact them.
