NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A man has been arrested after police say he stole a car in New Haven and crashed it into an SUV in Branford, killing a 4-year-old Hamden boy.
Police say 18-year-old Tyler Carey, of East Haven, was driving a stolen car on Sunday and crashed after he refused to pull over for a traffic stop.
Carey faces charges including reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor stemming from the crash. Court records indicate his bail was lowered on Monday from $500,000 to $250,000.
The Hartford Courant reports court records show Carey is also scheduled to appear in a Norwalk court Wednesday on separate charges involving a stolen car, a chase and a crash in June.
An attorney for Carey couldn't immediately be located to comment on his behalf.
