Connecticut police chiefs are mostly defending automated license plate cameras as more communities raise privacy and surveillance concerns. The Chiefs say the technology has become an important crime-solving tool. A new state law taking effect October 1 will limit data sharing and generally require records to be deleted after 21 days.
