A controversial proposal to limit self-checkout lines in Connecticut stores is dead for now. Lawmakers declined to take up the bill before a key deadline, effectively ending its chances this session. The measure would have required one staffed register for every two self-checkout kiosks and capped self-checkouts at eight per store.
