Connecticut is expanding access to its state parks with improved all-terrain wheelchair programs set to return for the summer season. The updated program features more accessible trails, fewer barriers, and a streamlined reservation process for visitors with mobility challenges. Fourteen all-terrain wheelchairs will be available free of charge across seven park and forest locations, with reservations opening now and usage beginning June 6. Visitors must complete a safety video and waiver before use, with demand expected to grow after strong interest last year. The program is designed to give more people the chance to explore trails and outdoor spaces that were previously difficult to access, with expanded improvements continuing into the upcoming season.
