Governor Ned Lamont is urging residents to buy local during National Farmers’ Market Week, running through Saturday. Connecticut has more than 120 farmers’ markets and nearly 5,000 farms contributing about $4 billion annually to the state economy. Many markets also accept SNAP, WIC and senior nutrition benefits.
