Just across the state line, a suspect is facing charges after a postal employee was stabbed inside the Carmel Post Office Thursday afternoon. Police say the suspect tried to flee but was captured by a Putnam County sheriff’s deputy after a brief struggle in which a Taser was used. The knife was recovered. The injured employee was taken to Putnam Hospital Center with injuries described as not life-threatening.
