Repeat School Bus Violators Face License Suspension

Connecticut drivers who repeatedly fail to stop for school buses will now face tougher penalties. A new state law requires a six-month driver’s license suspension for anyone convicted of a third or subsequent violation of the school bus stopping law. Existing penalties, including fines and possible jail time, remain in place. State officials say the change is aimed at improving safety for children boarding and leaving school buses.
