Several dogs were rescued by police after a fire destroyed most of a detached garage and damaged the rear of a home on Cherry Lane in Bethel. Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading further, and no injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation by the Bethel Fire Marshal’s Office.
