Officials Warn Boaters Of Cold Water Dangers Despite Warm Weather

Connecticut officials are warning boaters not to be fooled by warm spring air, as water temperatures remain dangerously cold across the state. Even with air temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s, many bodies of water are still in the 40s and low 50s, increasing the risk of hypothermia and cold shock. Officials say water below 60 degrees can quickly become life-threatening. Boaters are urged to wear life jackets and take extra precautions before heading out.
